About Not a thing. CIC

Not a thing. gives new and upcoming bands somewhere to play, across alt-jazz and soul, alt-rock in all its variants, electronic, afrobeat, latin and whatever else turns up.

We're a non-profit based in Huddersfield, working mostly at venues in the Leeds area. On most of our nights we pay for the room and most of the promotion, so the bands can split the door takings equally. We take no money out of what we do.

We also build things the local scene can use: Leeds Gig Guide, the tickets site that we and other local promoters run our nights on, and a few more you'll find on the projects page.

How it's run

Since September 2026 our nights have been run by Not a thing. CIC. A CIC, or community interest company, is a company set up to benefit the community. Its money and assets have to stay with that purpose, and it reports on what it has done every year.

Dan Akers runs it day to day, and the company's directors are listed on Companies House.

Sponsorship

Businesses can sponsor our nights at the prices on our sponsorship page. They're the same prices for everyone.
